Board of Trustees
The Riverdale Public Library is governed by its Board of Trustees. The Trustees are responsible for setting overall policy and for overseeing the finances of the Library. Specific responsibilities of the Board are to:
- Support the Library in its goal to provide excellent service to the community. The Trustees understand the community and work to ensure that the library meets those needs.
- Establish policies that support the Library in achieving its goals.
- Strive to obtain adequate financial support for the Library.
- Hire a director who will provide professional guidance for the Library.
Each Trustee is appointed by the Mayor of the Borough of Riverdale for a 5-year term.

Board of Trustee Meetings
The Board of Trustees meets the second Monday of each month except where noted. Meetings start at 7:00 PM at the library and are open to the public. Minutes are available upon request with a fee of $15 per copy. Currently, all meetings are being held online. Register on our event calendar for the Zoom Meeting and you will be sent the Zoom link. Meetings in 2021 and the first meeting of 2022 are scheduled as follows:

Morris Automated Information Network, Inc. (M.A.I.N.)
The Riverdale Public Library is a member of MAIN which is composed of 38 public libraries in Morris County and surrounding areas. Each library is separate and independent and is supported by its own community. However, the libraries share the network and circulation system supported by MAIN. In addition, the libraries combine to purchase special online resources. Each MAIN library also shares its resources with other MAIN libraries.
