Announcing a New DVD/CD Media Drop for the Convenience of Our Patrons

The Friends of the Riverdale Public Library have generously donated an outdoor DVD/CD Media Drop. You can now drop your movies off even though the library is closed. The new drop box sits next to our regular book drop.

AARP Driver Safety Course – Saturday, March 7 AND March 14 – 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Factors related to aging can increase the risk of crashes and injury among drivers. The purpose of this course is to help drivers of all ages to maintain their mobility and independence by refreshing their driving skills and learning how to adjust to age-related challenges. Cost: $15.00 for AARP members; $20.00 for non-members. Both sessions must be completed; course participants may be eligible for auto insurance premium discounts.

New to using a tablet? Bring your device and learn the basics in this monthly workshop for tablet users looking to increase their skills and share knowledge and experience. Learn how to access public Wi-Fi, change settings, set up email, and install and remove apps. Attend once, or as many sessions as you need. Meets the third Friday of each month, January through June, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Digital Magazine Downloading
 Use your library card to access digital versions of popular magazines. Martha Stewart Living, The Economist, and Food Network Magazine are just some of the magazines you can download each month (for free!) and keep. Attend this workshop to see the one-time set-up process. Have a tablet? Bring it! Computers will be available for those without a tablet.

Digital Magazines Available - Twenty two new magazines have been added for 2015. Through the Morris Automated Information Network (MAIN) library consortium, digital issues of popular magazines are available to read on your computer, tablet, or e-reader or Smartphone device.

A new audio book format is available at the library - the playaway. It's an audio book and player - one book per device, no other player needed. Just pop in your headphones and listen to a great book. Easy to operate with buttons to press for forward, rewind, etc. Current titles are: The Lace Reader, Smokescreen, The Lost Quilter, Days of Gold, Cream Puff Murder, Carrot Cake Murder, The Other Queen, The Comforts of a Muddy Saturday, The Laughter of Dead Kings, Handle with Care, The Lonely Polygamist.
