The Friends Annual Book Sale is March 27 - 29th, 2015. Great Books at Great Prices - Movies and Music too!
Book Sale Hours: Friday, March 27, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m. Sunday is bag day - fill a bag for $5.

Tax Forms - We have available the federal tax forms: 1040, 1040A and 1040 EZ. The IRS is not sending instruction booklets or any additional forms to libraries. Instructions are available by downloading from the Internal Revenue website: IRS.gov. The Riverdale Public Library has copies of instructions booklets for the 1040, 1040A and the 1040EZ available to check out.
The new e-book and audiobook provider is here - 3M Cloud. It is easier than ever to download e-books and audiobooks to to your PC, tablet, iPad, or phone. All the content is just for MAIN patrons. Announcing a New DVD/CD Media Drop for the Convenience of Our Patrons
The Friends of the Riverdale Public Library have generously donated an outdoor DVD/CD Media Drop. You can now drop your movies off even though the library is closed. The new drop box sits next to our regular book drop.

Diabetes 101: Diabetes Management through Healthy Eating and Exercise - Wednesday, March 11, 7:00 p.m. Nutrition and exercise play key roles in managing diabetes. Allison Smith, MPH, RD, ShopRite of Lincoln Park’s registered dietician, will give an educational presentation on gaining better control of your blood sugar through diet and exercise.
Spring Gardening - Wednesday, March 18, 7:00 p.m. Does your garden need a makeover? Want to create a new garden from scratch? Master Gardener Bill Moran will focus on both of these topics. He will also cover proper gardening tools and their use, how to purchase new annuals and perennials, and how to plan a vegetable garden with a growing season from mid-March through early January.
AARP Driver Safety Course – Rescheduled to Saturday, April 18 AND April 25 – 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Factors related to aging can increase the risk of crashes and injury among drivers. The purpose of this course is to help drivers of all ages to maintain their mobility and independence by refreshing their driving skills and learning how to adjust to age-related challenges. Cost: $15.00 for AARP members; $20.00 for non-members. Both sessions must be completed; course participants may be eligible for auto insurance premium discounts.

iPad and Tablet Users Group
New to using a tablet? Bring your device and learn the basics in this monthly workshop for tablet users looking to increase their skills and share knowledge and experience. Learn how to access public Wi-Fi, change settings, set up email, and install and remove apps. Attend once, or as many sessions as you need. Meets the third Friday of each month, January through June, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Friday Matinees: Second Fridays of the month at 1:00 p.m. Recent blockbuster movies or much-loved classics shown on the big screen. Refreshments served.
Into the West – Friday, March 13, 1:00 p.m. - When their mystical white horse is stolen, two young Irish boys attempt to recover it and encounter adventure in the process. Rated PG, 97 minutes.
Into the Woods – Friday, April 10, 1:00 p.m. - A baker and his wife venture into the woods in search of a cure for a witch’s curse. Rated PG, 124 minutes.
Documentaries - Join us for a thought-provoking documentary on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments served.
Into the Arms of Strangers – Monday, April 6, 6:30 p.m. – The story of the British rescue operation that saved Jewish children during the Holocaust. Rated PG, 122 minutes.
The Imposter – Monday, May 4, 6:30 p.m. – A young Frenchman appears in the lives of a grieving Texas family, claiming that he is their 16 year old son who has been missing for three years. 99 minutes.
