What Can I Find in the Children's Room?
The Children’s Room has several different sections which are labeled when you walk in:
New Books
Fiction
Graphic Novels
Picture Books
Easy Readers: Choose Level 1 stories for children just learning to read, then gradually move up as they graduate to easy chapter books.
Non-Fiction: Information on animals, countries, history, science, and more. Easy Reader non-fiction is included in this section.
Biographies: Easy Reader biographies are also included here.
Board Books: Sturdy books for the littlest hands, in easy-to-access bins.
Movies: Check out Disney classics like "Cinderella" and "Snow White," plus look for DVDs featuring your children's favorite television characters like Doc McStuffins and Peppa Pig. PG-rated films are located in the Family section on the 3rd Floor.
Foreign Language: Books and DVDs in Spanish, plus materials in French, Italian, and German.
Parenting Collection (now shelved with Adult Non-Fiction): Current books on issues like discipline, autism, Common Core, and homeschooling.
Magazines: Includes children's, tween, and parenting magazines.
Music: A wide variety of children's music, plus Christmas CDs.
Audiobooks: New and classic books on CD for those long car trips to grandma's.
Read-Alongs: Perfect for beginning readers, these kits contain picture books and accompanying CDs.
