We have some special collections of books –
Large Print Books: Thanks to the Friends of the Riverdale Public Library, we have a growing collection of books in large print.
Parenting Collection: Hundreds of books especially for parents are located in the Children’s Room. Books about families and teenagers are in the adult section.
We don’t just lend books!
DVDs: More than 3,000 DVDs of all types – feature films (VHS also), kids shows, popular TV shows, exercise and more. Non-fiction DVDs are shelved with the subject, such as DVDs about how to train your dog
Borrow up to 5 at a time for one week. You must be 18 years old to borrow movies.
Magazines: We have more than 50 magazines, including some for children. While the current issue stays in the library, all back issues can be borrowed for 4 weeks, the same as a book. Please click here for a list of print magazines.
Digital Magazines Available - Through the Morris Automated Information Network (MAIN) library consortium, digital issues of popular magazines are available to read on your computer, tablet, or e-reader or Smartphone device.
Popular Mechanics, Martha Stewart Living, The Economist, The Food Network Magazine are just some of the magazines available. Click here for a complete list of magazines in digital format.

Newspapers: We subscribe to several local newspapers which are available in the library: The Suburban Trends, The Bergen County Record, and The Star Ledger.
Historical Suburban Trends 1958 – now: We have The Suburban Trends in digital format going all the way back 45 years to its beginning This is available in the library and is 100% searchable.
On-Line Newspapers & Magazines: Via the EBSCO database services and other services available through library cooperatives in Northern NJ, we also have access to thousands of newspaper, magazine and journal articles online going back to the 1800’s in some cases. These databases can be accessed from any PC connected to the Internet, using the barcode number on your library card.

Audio Books: Got a long commute? Bored on the treadmill? We have a wide selection of books on CD and on cassette that you can listen to. They go out for 28 days, just the same as books. Audio books are also available for children & are great for long car trips!
Downloadable Audio and E-Books
Thousands of downloadable books of all types for everyone! Fiction, non-fiction, young adult and children’s books. Audio and e-books are available for most devices. If the book you want isn’t available, you can place a hold.
